Nanda Devi and Valley of Flowers National Parks Nandadevi National Park is the least exploited Indian park for the reason of its isolation and tough reaching conditions. The park exhibits and accommodates the rarest and dying out species of mammals like bharal, snow leopard and the Himalayan musk deer. The Nandadevi peak convincingly overlooks the park and touches to a height of 7,800m. The place is enormously revered by the Hindus who take a trip here once in twelve years to pay their reverence the Trishul placed here.Nandadevi National Park is in the mighty Himalayan ranges of the Chamoli district. The area falls within the Gharwal division in the newly formed Indian State of Uttaranchal. In 1988, the UNESCO declared it as a World Heritage Site. The valley of flowers National Park ignites the desires of tourists for its wide-ranging alpine flowers and astonishing innate splendour. Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, blue sheep and brown bear are some of the rarest and dying out animals that find shelter here. It’s about 20 km northwest of Nandadevi national park and extremely adored by mountaineers and botanists. For its beauty and all-round panoramic views, the place is not only adored but equalled with the abode of Gods. The valley grows out to be the most endearing place in the time of rainy season and presents the vista of a natural garden and alpine flowers. It also has been listed in the list of world heritage sites by UNESCO in 2005. These two parks collectively link the mountain ranges of Zanskar and Great Himalaya and jointly referred as the Nandadevi and Valley of flowers national park. Nandadevi comprises around 312 floral species while the valley of flowers boasts of about 600 species of flora with some rare ones. Nandadevi has 14 species of mammals and the valley of flowers hardly manages 13 species of animals.
