Kanha National Park Kanha National is a premium India National Park and one of India’s finest tiger reserves. The park is in Banjar and Halon valleys in the Mandla districts of Madhya Pradesh, and stretches its limit to more than 940 sq km with an exceptional horse shoe shape. Diverse wildlife and natural good looks of landscapes make the park an endearing place. The striking Kanha National Park charmed and delighted Rudyard Kipling to pen down the remarkable classic Jungle Book. After being set-up in 1955 by a special law, the park aims to preserve a vast range of animal species. The task of making wildlife a lasting affair for India and its environment, it has been working with dedication and has saved loads of dying out species. The open grassy meadows provide an ideal retreat for blackbuck, swamp deer, sambhar and chital. The cherished dream to spot a live tiger wandering liberally in the wilderness of its natural habitat is not a rare sight at Kanha National Park. The wonderful sight of tigers can not be expected anywhere in entire India as regularly as in the Kanha National Park. Tiger, bison, gaur, sambhar, chital, jackal fox, porcupine, hyena, jungle cat, python, pea fowl, hare, barking deer, black deer, black buck, chousingha, nilgai, mouse deer, sloth bear, monkey, mongoose, tiger, and leopard are the some other easily visible animals in the park. Apart from a large swathe of animals, birds of many specifies are also available in the park. Storks, spur fowl, partridges, quails, ring doves, spotted parakeets, green pigeons, rock pigeons, teals, pintails, pond herons, egrets, peacock, pea fowl, jungle fowl, cuckoos, papihas etc are just few of the varieties of birds.
