Hampi Hampi is a wonderful terrain of incredible surprises, and was established at some stage of the 4th Century by two local princes, Hakka & Bukka. It had served as the medieval capital of the Hindu empire Vijayanagara (the City of Victory) and situated in the Karnataka state of India. Moreover, Hampi features among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and glitters splendidly even in its ruined state. Attractions in HampiThe Virupaksha Temple at the western end is ranked among the oldest sites in the city, with the main shrine devoted a form of Lord Vishnu. Ugra Narasimha is a 6.7 m tall monolith wherein the Narasimha is a seated four-armed figure beneath a shelter of a seven-hooded snake. The ruins of the Vithala Temple are a World Heritage monument which is at a few minute walking distances from the city. Travellers can observe the summit of the Vijayanagar Art with this temple. Lotus Mahal is yet another spot of significance here which exhibits an interesting blend of the Hindu and Islamic styles of architecture. Hazara Rama Temple boasts of the intricately carved basalt pillars displaying the incarnations of Shri Vishnu, and lures religious visitors for events from the Ramayana. Queen's bath is a sophisticated bathhouse and creates a sense of curiously for its plain exterior and the incredibly ornate interior.
