Bodhgaya BodhGaya is a holy Buddhist spot in the form of a village in the famous state of Bihar. Being the site of the Buddha Shakyamuni's enlightenment, it is the most sacred of all Buddhist available sites throughout the world. Bodhgaya is the place where Prince Gautama attained enlightenment beneath the holy Bodhi tree, and then became popular as Lord Budha. It also features among the four most revered pilgrimage places for the Buddhists. BodhGaya attracts a vast number of Buddhists from all over the world, and even the Buddhists have built temples here in Bodh Gaya. Attractions in BodhgayaThe Mahabodhi Temple located at the place of Lord Buddha's enlightenment, and a prime site to see. Quite a few other temples on this site also take the Buddhists back to olden period. The Bodhi Tree here is rated as a descendent of the tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment, and seen by the visitors with a great curiosity. There are many legends about the tree, and some even say that the original one is at Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka. Vajrasana is a stone platform where Buddha once sat. Chankaramana is another thing to see in Bodhgaya, and this brings out the Buddha's meditative ways to reach to the pious enlightenment. Arimeshlochana is a place where Buddha spent one week to search the great Mahabodhi Tree out of gratitude, without twinkling his eyes.
