Guwahati
 Guwahati is probably the most significant city for North East India, and almost a gateway to complete north eastern part of India. Initially called Pragjyotishpur, this key city is located on the banks of glorious River Brahmaputra 55 meters above sea level. There are plenty of legends to suggest the splendor of the city, and the most valid one makes out that it’s the birthplace of Lord Kamrup, the God of Love.
Guwahati has made a place as a significant commercial center, and also recognized for its spots worth seeing. A few of the prominent pilgrim places like Kamakhya Temple Kaziranga National Park have made the city a place to be visited by many. Guwahati maintains a pleasant climate for all round the year with temperatures upping to 35º C maximum from the lowest 10º C. Visitors often take time to visit Guwahati between October and April.

Guwahati in Assam is a city having significance as pilgrims and tourists’ spots from its many temples and attractions. Kamakhya Temple features among the most significant temples in Assam and rated as one of the Shakti Peethams in India. It was re-built in 17th century after once being ruined in 16th century.
Sri Purva Tirupati Balaji Temple further adds to the charm of Guwahati. Assam state zoo or the Guwahati Zoo comprises Asiatic Lions, the royal Bengal tiger, one horned Indian rhinoceros, stump tailed Macaque and lots of reptiles. Deepor Beel is another attractive place in the city which is positioned on the south west side of Guwahati.
